Hello.

You have obviously clicked on the link to read about me ... Chrissie. I am 22, tall, have blonde hair ... oh is that not what you were wanting to find out about!?! He, he, he!

OK, so my name is Chrissie and I am in the most amazing relationship with a guy called God who I believe created everything you can see around you and did that because He loves me and you so much that He wanted to provide everything we need and ever will need.

So how did I get to where I am today? Here goes ...

Family

My parents are Christians and so I was brought up in a Christian family and am so grateful for that as it meant I had the opportunity to hear and learn about God all through my 'ikkle years! However, I believe becoming a Christian takes a personal decision and a personal commitment to doing things which will make God smile. I made this decision when I was 10 and that's where an amazing life with good times and purely rubbish times began.

School

It started with a school life of being bullied for my beliefs, having no-one to talk to and to understand what I was going through, but at the same time having a God named Jesus who was always there to listen and to comfort me when I was feeling down. It may sound weird but believe me there is nothing better than the kind of hug Jesus can give you when it doesn't feel as if anything could make you feel better. So as time at school was tough my relationship with God was getting better and better. It was when I was 14, singing my heart out at an event called Spring Harvest and feeling great that I realized what I was singing. History Maker by Delirious is a song about being a History Maker by letting people know about God (which is a relationship which changes your life forever). By looking at the words, listening to what my heart was saying and to how God was leading me towards a decision I felt a strong desire to be a youth worker.

Christian Union

So that's where this recent adventure started, I pulled off my first talk (some may say sermon) at the age of 14, encouraged (with the help of others) and implemented some youth work at my Church, started up a Christian Union in the sixth form, did a gap year, half of it with SCAt and then commenced a three year degree in Youth and Community Work and Applied Theology. And that brings me to now, I have finished the second year, am a JNC level 2 qualified youth worker (Wahoo!!!!) and am doing my final year while starting this new fantastic area of my life in SCAt!

Great God

So why SCAt? I found school tough and also the best time of my life. The bullying stopped in year 10 and it was then that I realised what it had all been for. My confidence had grown, I had immense respect for other people's beliefs and my faith was so strong and I wanted to keep on telling people about how great this God I knew was (and is). People who go to school spend approx 6 hours a day, 5 days a week there so where else better to show people the love of God. As well as taking the love in myself, to students and staff, my vision is to empower and assist the young people in sharing their faith and relationship with God with their friends. Alongside this there is the Quest stream, hanging out with the young people and doing other things where we can provide a service for the schools! I believe God has put me in this job and this area and that I share his passion and compassion for a people crying out for fulfillment in their lives. A fulfillment which they are searching for in drugs, alcohol, relationships, sex and, dare I say, success in careers. All of these good and fulfilling things in appropriate areas and amounts but the ultimate fulfillment, the ultimate satisfaction and the ultimate person they are searching for is God, our awesome Father and Creator.
