Feedback
We value all the feedback we have from schools — whether from teachers or pupils, whether formal or informal. Here are some examples we have received which appeared in SCAttER over the years.
Story-telling club

Just a few of the comments heard from children who've been coming to the new Story telling club at Oaktree infant school in St Johns. Over 50 children now regularly attend this fifteen minute lunchtime activity which consists purely of a Bible story ... simply told. We have been amazed at the attentiveness of the children and their reactions as they hear the adventure of Bible truths unfold before their eyes in the characters of people like David the shepherd boy, Zacchaeus the tax collector, Anna and Simeon, Daniel, Samuel, through to Jesus, his birth his growing up ... It's been fantastic!
'The club is fun and you get to play
games' (Jade and Tom)
'We learn new things about the Bible and you get to know people better'
(George)
'The assemblies are really good because they do quizzes' (Tom)
'The plays are really good and we learn new songs' (Lauren and George)
Our thanks go to Claire Logan (RE-Coordinator at Bisley School) for collecting the quotes from Year 6 children (some members of the Friday lunchtime Club)

Pyrford Church of England (Aided) Primary School is delighted that SCAt will be visiting the school in June to lead an assembly. The school became a church school in 1999, after many years of close association with the parish of Wisley with Pyrford. Since the change in status we have been looking for ways in which to develop the Christian ethos of the school and develop further links within the wider community. We have a variety of assemblies on a regular basis with a number of additional speakers visiting us from time to time. We are glad that SCAt are able to add to the range of assemblies in which children can participate. The children thoroughly enjoyed the drama presentation and quiz when SCAt visited at the start of April. This greatly helped us in our Easter preparations. We look forward to seeing you soon for more fun!

COMMENTS FROM OUR EASTER 2003 PRIMARY ASSEMBLY FEEDBACK SHEETS
"It was lovely"
"This assembly seemed geared to our age group very well, and tackled the difficult concept of Easter so that the children could understand"
"Difficult to improve on what was an excellent assembly"
"All parts of the assembly worked really well"
"Many thanks, it was a super assembly - as always. We look forward to every visit!"
"You have a lovely rapport with the children - they are all keen for you to come again"
"It was great, we would love to book you again in the summer term and in the following academic year"
After the Christmas assemblies in 2000
On hearing that the angel didn't get a present (because she
wasn't worth it..) a 6 year old from Horsell C of E commented:
"Thats okay, I'll be
your present!"
Part of the drama format included actors of the nativity who just didn't turn up to play their part (because they didn't think it was worth it). Some children from The Park school were so concerned that they wanted to help us out!: "I know what we can do, I can be a King, she can be Mary and him over there can be the shepherd...okay? I know how we can organise it…!"
It was a very interactive experience for us - affirming that they really had entered into the excitement and meaning of the drama. As we concluded the assembly at The Manor First School a 5 year old put her hand up and said: "The best gift of all at Christmas is Jesus" Such an encouragement!
As children left the hall at Beaufort school a classroom assistant came up to tell us that a child had just said this to her: "I loved the assembly...it made my heart warm..."
2 new schools visited this term said: "It was excellent! ...thank you for coming" Mrs Rolf - Head teacher at The Marist
"The box (present) saga kept them (the children) interested. Loved the music...interactive. Modern day elements were appreciated by teachers!" Rachel Boxer RE coordinator at Beaufort
Other comments received:

"Many thanks for such a lovely assembly. They just get better and better!" Judith Lonsdale - Head of the Park
"Absolutely fantastic..." Michael Bennett - Head of The Manor First School
"We loved all of it - teachers and children, thank you." Ann Newlyn Ward - Head of St Dunstans
SCAt AT GREENFIELD
The SCAt team has been visiting Greenfield for a number of years, typically at the end of a term, and children and staff alike anticipate their assemblies with much pleasure. Usually interactive, often amusing, always thought provoking, the team unfailingly gets the balance just right. The children are encouraged and invited to contribute, to laugh, to pray, to sing - and Greenfield children do so with enthusiasm. The work the team does is invaluable, and we are most appreciative of their commitment.
