Pray … Pray … Pray
Revised 7 June 2010
FOR I KNOW THE PLANS I HAVE FOR YOU
Thanking …
Thanksgiving
- Thank God for the Youth Workers and several gap year students from around Woking working with the CUs in the secondary schools and Sixth Form College. Praise God for the teamwork between them all as they belong to different churches and have differing spheres of responsibility.
- Thank God for all those who meet together in groups to pray for the schools. Pray that those parents will find ways of encouraging and supporting the teachers in those schools.
- Thank God that there are still many open doors into schools. Pray for SCAt to know how best to use resources to meet the opportunities available.
- Thank God for all the lunchtime and after-school clubs where stories from the Bible are shared, that the seeds would bear much fruit.
And so, what about the Primary schools? Please pray with us:
- For Patrick and the Assembly Team as they prepare the Summer assemblies. Please ask God to help the team as they work together to create an engaging session.
- For the NOAH'S ARK after-school club at Ottershaw Infants, and XTREME at Ottershaw Junior at lunchtime - Thursdays.
- Thank God for his guidance and inspiration that enabled the Early Summer assemblies to be well received and for the opportunities to read stories at Brookwood and Horsell schools.
- Praise God for THE SPOTLIGHT CLUB at St John's School on Wednesday lunchtimes; THE CLUB at Horsell Junior School on Tuesday lunchtimes and THE CHRISTIAN CLUB running at St Bede's on Monday lunchtimes. .
- For the small group work being supported in St. Bede's, St. John's and Goldsworth schools.
… and the Secondary Schools? Please pray with us:
- For the youth workers, that their work in schools may continue and develop whilst Chrissie is on maternity leave.
- That the youth workers are able to meet the safeguarding children guidelines evolving within the schools and continue their work without any disruption.
- For schools to take up the opportunity to run It's Your Move sessions for their Year 6 pupils easing their transition into secondary schools.
- For all those young peple who have started GCSE's and A Level exams
- That the team spirit and enthusiasm shown at the youth workers networking meeting will continue and lead to many opportunities to deliver God's word within secondary schools.
In Autumn 1997, SCAt launched the PRAYER FOR SCHOOLS NETWORK; in Woking bringing together people who have a heart for children and who wish to pray regularly for them. We want to encourage and establish prayer groups for every school in the Woking area (our contribution to the National network), and to connect our school prayer groups together for mutual encouragement, prayer and support. We think it's really important to support the work of SCAt and other Christians who either work in or are involved with schools.
So, check out our map! Consider joining a prayer group where your child attends!
Do contact the office for more information about the prayer groups.
