Pray … Pray … Pray
Revised 4th February 2008
Their
cry went up to God, who heard their groaning and remembered His
covenant .... He saw the slavery ... and was concerned for them.
(Ex 2:23-25) And Moses their deliverer was raised up. Let God
hear our cry!
Thanking …
Thanksgiving
- Thank God for the Youth Workers and some gap year students from different churches around Woking working with the CUs and in the secondary schools and Sixth Form College.
- Thank God for Karen, and at least 12 volunteers that work with her in the primary schools in different roles - Storytelling, Clubs or in the Assembly Team.
- Thank God for all those who meet together in groups to pray for the schools. Some get breakfast too!
- Thank God that there are still many open doors into schools.
- Thank God for all the lunchtime and after-school clubs where stories from the Bible are shared along with crafts and games. For details see the map.
And so, what about the Primary schools? Please pray with us:
- Easter Assemblies have now finished the three week run! Please pray for the volunteers and Karen to be refreshed as it is a busy time and they are pretty tired by the end of the 3 weeks.
- For guidance and wisdom as to how the work of SCAt develops in the future. There is no spare capacity to work in other schools or do more in the current schools. Ask God to send us "the workers" of Matt 9:37,38 to join the Primary Assembly and Club teams.
- For the story telling clubs in Hermitage, Oaktree Schools, and Horsell Village Schools, as the Word, which is living and active, is sown in many hearts. And for the activity clubs at Chobham, Kingfield, St John's, and Bisley Schools where crafts and games are knitted with a Bible story; pray for receptive hearts.
… and the Secondary Schools? Please pray with us:
- For all the C.U. Groups at Woking High, Winston Churchill, and Woking College.
- For continuing good relationships between SCAt and the local secondary schools and the youth workers.
- For more opportunities to open up to serve in different ways and to enable work within other local secondary schools to begin.
- For the Chaplaincy team (Barry Grimster, Val Harris and Chrissie Lacey) at Woking College which is in place and is being well used by students and staff.
- NED, the donkey, visited the college over Easter and processed around the school reminding students of Palm Sunday. The Last Supper was celebrated under a gazebo in the canteen. Pray that these things will stimulate heart questions and conversation.
In Autumn 1997, SCAt launched the PRAYER FOR SCHOOLS NETWORK; in Woking bringing together people who have a heart for children and who wish to pray regularly for them. We want to encourage and establish prayer groups for every school in the Woking area (our contribution to the National network), and to connect our school prayer groups together for mutual encouragement, prayer and support. We think it's really important to support the work of SCAt and other Christians who either work in or are involved with schools.
So, check out our map! Consider joining a prayer group where your child attends!
Do contact the office for more information about the prayer groups.
