Thanking …

Thanksgiving

  • Thank God for the Youth Workers and several gap year students from around Woking working with the CUs in the secondary schools and Sixth Form College.   Praise God for the teamwork between them all as they belong to different churches and have differing spheres of responsibiity.
  • Thank God for all those who meet together in groups to pray for the schools. Pray that those parents will find ways of encouraging and supporting the teachers in those schools. 
  • Thank God that there are still many open doors into schools.  Pray for SCAt to know how best to use resources to meet the opportunities available.
  • Thank God for all the lunchtime and after-school clubs where stories from the Bible are shared, that the seeds would bear much fruit.

And so, what about the Primary schools?  Please pray with us:

  • For Patrick and the Assembly Team - The EASTER ASSEMBLIES are about to start in the schools on Monday  8 March.  Please ask God for sustained  energy, unity, enthusiasm to share again the story of what it is all about.  
  • For the story-telling that goes on  in Horsell Village School and at Brookwood School at lunch time on Fridays.
  • For the NOAH'S ARK after-school club at Ottershaw Infants, and XTREME  at Ottershaw Junior at lunchtime - Thursdays.  
  • Praise God that THE SPOTLIGHT CLUB at St John's School on Wednesday at lunchtime.  
  • Praise God for THE CLUB at Horsell Junior School on Tuesdays at lunchtime.
  • Praise God for THE CHRISTIAN CLUB running at St Bede's on Monday at lunchtime.

… and the Secondary Schools?  Please pray with us:

  • For all the C.U. Groups at Woking High, Winston Churchill, and Woking College, that the young people will be encouraged and strengthened in their faith.
  • For continuing good relationships between SCAt and the local secondary schools and the youth workers.
  • For more opportunities to open up to serve in different ways and to enable work within other local secondary schools to begin.
  • For the Chaplaincy team (Rev Barry Grimster, Helen - St Johns, Gavin and Josh - URC, Nathan - Coign, and Chrissie - SCAt) at Woking College which is in place and is being well used by students and staff.  

In Autumn 1997,  SCAt launched the PRAYER FOR SCHOOLS NETWORK; in Woking bringing together people who have a heart for children and who wish to pray regularly for them. We want to encourage and establish prayer groups for every school in the Woking area (our contribution to the National network), and to connect our school prayer groups together for mutual encouragement, prayer and support. We think it's really important to support the work of SCAt and other Christians who either work in or are involved with schools.
